ABOUT THE WORK With the introduction of my "Antiquity" line, I create vessels that have an elegant, old-world aesthetic. This is achieved through the use of black "antiquing" on texturized regions of the vessel, set against an otherwise neutral palette. The contrast between muted black and cream creates an elegant and striking line of ware. The introduction of light blue to the interior of some vessels in this line is new this year, and extends the palette beyond neutral, while integrating with the original pieces in this line. In contrast to the formality of the "Antiquity" line, the "Zen" line of ware presents vessels that are more stylized and organic in their forms. The palette of these vessels helps to emphasize the sculptural qualities of the pieces, along with slip design and alteration of the form, and allows the "Zen" line to easily integrate with the "Antiquity" line, providing you with a truly unique and integrated range of ceramic ware. New this year, inspired by a recent trip to the Cinque Terre region of Italy, is the "Ligurian Sea" line. It consists of light blue vessels with much surface treatment and alteration to the original form. In some cases, I have integrated this blue with the "Antiquity" line. Also new this year is a line of stoneware called "Canadian Shield". Inspired by many years of camping and canoeing in this majestic region, this line reflects the pink and black bedrock while suggesting the overlying green of lichens, mosses and larger flora. It provides an earthy stoneware alternative to the elegant porcelain of the other lines. All lines are completely microwave and dishwasher safe, and are designed with everyday living in mind! I hope you will find something to suit you. I am very excited to be offering "green" ware ... all the pottery is now fired using energy from renewable or low-impact sources, using BULLFROG POWER.
